In partnership with Save the Children

The students photographed issues in the community that they believed needed to be brought to the attention of both the residents and the leaders of the community.  At the completion of the course, there was an exhibition of the students’ work attended by family and residents of the Far Rockaway Community. There are plans in place for a member of the Action Center staff to facilitate a photography club and teach more classes.

In July 2014, CPC worked in Far Rockaway, Queens, New York in collaboration with The Action Center and Save the Children. A Class of nine children, ages 12-17 was taught. During the third week of class the concept of photography, as a tool for advocacy and change, was introduced.
